This capsule was derived from the multitude of ups and downs, and wins and losses of the past few years. I write a message for each capsule to communicate the message and story behind the work, below is the write up for our SS21 Capsule “Pickin’ up the pieces”.
“broken, fragmented, fragile, imperfect. where do we go from here? pickin’ up the pieces endlessly, it seems. parts of a whole longing for unity. sharp, jagged edges. remnants of what was and what could yet be. of what is not yet beyond repair. the porcelain still shines. still retains its luster. its life. piece by piece the parts become the sum. the fix, flawed yet strong. repaired yet scarred with growth, beauty, and strength. a memory, a story, a guide, for a time when we are left to pick up the pieces again. will we ever truly be whole? remnants of what was and what will be...shall be whole again.”
